Notably one of the vital safari parks in Kenya due to its large number of elephants including the world’s super Tuskers. Located in Taita-Taveta County near the town of Voi, Tsavo East National Park is one of the most protected areas in Kenya. The Kenya Wildlife Service website actually describes this park as a ‘Theatre of the Wild’ as you can see vast herds of dust–red elephants traversing the vast savannahs. Though larger than Tsavo West, it is generally flat, with dry plains across which the Galana River flows. Other features include the Yatta Plateau and Lugard Falls. This Park offers very good game viewing and birding that is second only to Naivasha.
