Watamu Marine Park is described as the ‘Haven of the Green Turtles’ on the Kenya Wildlife Service website. Green turtles, unique coral gardens, the Gede Ruins – the Watamu Marine National Park & Reserve has it all. The Park is part of a complex of marine and tidal habitats along Kenya’s north coast with rich and diverse bird life, fish, turtles and dugongs. Visitors can enjoy the white sandy beaches, snorkeling, water skiing, windsurfing and glass bottomed boat tours. Its coral gardens are 300 meters (980 ft) from the shore and are home to approximately 600 species of fish, 110 species of stony coral and countless invertebrates, crustaceans and molluscs.
